3- Sorting Data

In this Grasshopper tutorial, I will teach you how to use sorting data to produce a spiral based surface and then convert it to smooth Mesh. First I will produce a surface by revolving a profile curve and then we will divide the surface with isotrim. By connecting the corners we can produce the spirals.

Hey man, i’ve tried sorting the strips using the area centroid but i can’t figure out how to do it. Can you help me?

    Hi Gabriel,
I hope I’ve understood your idea well, and I’ve attached the modified file for you.

Please tell if it’s not what you want

    Hello Erfan,
in this tutorial we used the circle fit + Sort along curves + List item components to sort data however im still struggling to understand the component Sort list which is used in lesson 13 attractors, can you redirect me to “sort list” tutorial please

    Hi Ibrahim,
I’ve emailed you a gh file which is the same example, but it sorts points by using Sort List component.

Let me know if you have any problem.

Thanks rezae, i understood from you’re example that its sporting the data (values A) along the (t) parameter of the curve closest point which are used as the (keys A), ill be going back to lesson 13 –> attractors and ill let u know if i have any questions.
