The project Shapes of Sweden was developed for the Volvo Design Challenge that Lilian van Daal won in 2015. For this challenge she dived into the Swedish environment and the brand proposition of Volvo.
Expandable Surface Pavilion

The Urbach Tower by itke/ICD Stuttgart is a unique wood structure. The design of the tower emerges from a new self-shaping process of the curved wood components. This pioneering development constitutes a paradigm shift in timber manufacturing.
3D Printed Beam
The 3D Printed Reinforced Beam is part of the ongoing research of Digital Building Technologies into 3D printed, structural building components. Two-sided cantilevering beams, up to 4.5 meters long, are fabricated out of sandstone.
London Timber Pavilion
London Timber Pavilion by Schiller Projects, is a project that focuses on the mindful redesign of two outdoor terraces in a metropolitan setting. The pavilion, was crafted by steam bending individual oak petals to create a self-supporting canopy.

The experimental pavilion BOXEL was designed and realized by students of the architecture department during the last summer semester on the campus of the University of Applied Sciences in Detmold.
