In this thesis, author defines, explores and evaluates A-BIM in the context of architectural design. Through a case study, she compares A-BIM to two other design approaches, namely an algorithmic approach to geometry-based CAD and a manual BIM approach.
This project by Paulina Tovo is a concrete application of BIM methodology focused on the implementation of Maintenance Plan and on a collaborative work. The thesis development was based on Variante di Demonte project, which is a real case that it has not yet been built.
Diller Scofidio + Renfro worked in close collaboration with Arup on the design of The Broad, helping showcase a “veil-and-vault” concept. This concept removes the normal museum archive and storage area as a place where items go to never be seen again.
