Moses Mabhida Stadium

The Moses Mabhida Stadium  by GMP Architekten is located in a sporting precinct in Durban on the shore of the Indian ocean and features a 105-metre arch that rises over the circular stadium. The arch is connected by cable system to the external edges of the roof, carrying the weight of the roof’s inner membrane.

Voxel Chair

A continuous line of plastic makes up this intricate robot-built chair, designed using a new 3D-printing software by a team from the Bartlett School of Architecture in London. The Bartlett’s Design Computation Lab (DCL), a part of University College London, created the software to open up new possibilities for 3D printing.

Thin Shell Structures

Sigrid Adriaenssens and Branko Glisic co-taught a course on German thin-shell structures at Princeton University that has resulted in a new exhibit, “Evolution of German Shells: Efficiency in Form.” The exhibit is on view on the Princeton campus in the Friend Center Engineering Library.
