Nature and its structures are always a central theme in Lilian van Daal ’s work. In this 3D printed material exploration the sequence of Fibonacci was applied. We, and our biological surrounding, are constructed based on this mathematical formula. For example, the patterns of the fruit sprouts of a pineapple, the flowering of an artichoke and the arrangement of leaves on a stem, are all shaped according to a certain natural law; the Fibonacci sequence. Lilian is exploring whether this sequence can be used for the application and improvement of interior design products.
