Breathing Wall by Najla El Zein is an interactive installation located at the entrance hall of a private residence in Beirut. It is a dynamic three dimensional wall surface composed of variable-sized diamond shaped modules with two facets, white and gold.

Water Reaction, a project by Royal College of Art student Chao Chen, is an to create a material that reacts to external conditions with no human input required. Unlike other more high-tech approaches to this idea, Chen was inspired by a pinecone.

Interactive Items made an installation with generative graphic for multitouch table. Tracking up to 60 objects of any kind placed on the panel. Effects are based on glsl shaders, edited and adapted for multitouch via processing.

The British artist Walter Jack, the founder of Walter Jack studio, presented a truly dynamic installation, ‘Crushed Wall’. The sensual 40-metre long, 3-metre high wall installation utilizes concrete material in such a way that it appears soft and malleable.

Created by TODO and LEVA for the control room of Enel’s pavilion at Expo Milan 2015, this project equivalates the high-tech environment that surrounds it. The “kinetic wall” consists of 127 motorised mechanical elements, each individually controlled in real time.

Taekyeom Lee is a designer and researcher taking pottery into the future. He taught himself to build and use a 3D printer with no prior background in robotics. He used it to create 3D-printed ceramic pieces.

Nassia Inglessis is an artist and designer. Her sculpture, “Disobedience” was built over 9 months by her and a team of engineers. The piece is 56 feet long, about 10 feet tall, and can expand up to 5 feet as it engulfs its visitors when they walk through it.

The facades of the new exhibition hall are essential to the overall design by Lacime Architects with the most notable characteristic being the elegant and dynamic effect of the facade which appears as a ‘rising curtain.’ 

The design of Sousse and Bardo Memorial by George King Architects was inspired by the fluid geometry of flowing water, frozen in place. At the centre of the memorial is a sculpture titled ‘Infinite Wave’’ which recreates a single wave.

Matrix by Leva is made of fifteen columns –  3.5 meters tall – counting three 32” monitors each (45 monitors in total); every monitor is individually controlled by a stepper motor that makes it slide up and down on a rail by belt transmission.

A soft and open mesh fabric turns into a spacious chair by a synthesis of constructive folding and hardening. Inspired by the carpet production process, Studio Samira Boon designed the chair based on the same principles.

Reef redefines the role of architectural envelope by capitalizing on emerging material technology to imbue space with behavioral qualities. A category of metals that change shape according to temperature, offer the possibility of efficient fluid movement.

Awakened 1 by Breakfast is made up of 168 Brixels (a mechanical medium BREAKFAST created), each with a mirrored and black side. The piece is an exploration of human interaction with a robotic medium.
